Made for your team.
In most companies the knowledge is already written down: it sits in contracts, specifications, procedures, minutes and attachments scattered across network folders and mailboxes. The problem is not producing more documents, it is finding the right passage without already knowing where to look.
The Box's document layer takes those folders as they are, extracts text and tables — scans included — and makes them searchable in natural language. Every answer comes with a pointer to the document and the page, because an answer without a source is not usable inside a company.
The same documents also help you write new ones: templates are the company models for minutes, quotes, reports and reviews. A new document starts from the shape and the content you already approved, not from a blank page.
From folders to new documents
The full path: what comes in, how it gets indexed, what comes out.
Folders and collections
Organize sources by department, matter or project. Each folder has an owner, permissions and its own refresh cadence.
Reading and OCR on the Box
PDFs, Office files, email and scans are read locally: text, tables and metadata are extracted without sending files outside.
Search with citations
Semantic and keyword search together: the answer shows the source passage, so it can be checked.
Company templates
Models for minutes, quotes, reports and product sheets: structure, tone and mandatory sections are already set.
Spreadsheets and price lists
On price lists, ERP extracts and spreadsheets you ask for a total or a row, instead of opening the file to look for it.
Permissions that follow the document
Someone who cannot see a folder never receives its content as an assistant's answer either.
Documents processed in your network
Reading, indexing and search happen on the Box: that is the difference between uploading your archive to a service and keeping it where it is.
See how the Box is built- Text extraction and search indexes are computed locally, on the device.
- Local pipelines process files on the Box. External services, if configured, receive the data they need.
- Remove a folder and its indexes go with it: deletion is real.
How the Box fits into everyday work
Every card is a real job: what goes in, what the Box does, what stays with your people.
